predictably, my favorite period was during their "classic" second lineup featuring Ian Gillian and my favorite of their albums are Machine Head and Deep Purple In Rock. and i've included all their most popular songs, so if you are already familiar with Deep Purple, you should skip this. it is for beginners. go listen to late-period deep cuts that i don't like, you snob.
